The next major round of statewide and congressional elections are 18 months away, but as San Luis Valley Republicans found out Thursday night, the campaigning has begun. Martin Beeson, the party's lone candidate for the 3rd Congressional District seat currently occupied by U.S. Rep. John Salazar, D-Manassa, leveled the sharpest attacks of the evening which saw roughly 130 Republicans gather for the valley's Lincoln Day Dinner. Beeson's brilliant strategy to beat Salazar suggests that Salazar only reads coloring books.
